Colonial Oaks

The Conference I attended had an outreach thing going on. My group was to go to Colonial Oaks assisted living. They have an Alzheimers Wing to their facility and that's where I spent my time.

Here's me with Mrs. Mercedes, Mr. Floyd and "Grandma". I never learned Grandma's real name, but that's what everyone called her.

Mrs. Mercedes was kind, Mr. Floyd kicked butt in games, and Grandma could probably run faster than me if she had balance. She's strong!

These are the two other guys that were with me, Jeremy and Troy. Look at Jeremy's approval of my picture-taking. Troy looks unhappy, but he's actually full of glee and food.

This is Maureen and me. There was word going around that Maureen had quite a crush on me. She was very shy and sweet. She spent most her time looking down at the ground with a concerned look on her face, but once in a while she'd sit up and smile really big and wave.

Here's one occurance of Maureen's wave/point system.

Here's Mrs. Jerry and I. Mrs. Jerry was very very sweet, always offering me her chair or her crackers. She gave me a little kiss on the cheek when I told her we had to leave.

This young lady is reading to the large rabbit.
